3 secrets to a successful business

As the founder of Designzillas, I have had the unique opportunity to see success in two areas of advertising online: website design and digital marketing. But even with a team that has very diverse skill sets, there are three things that are consistent—and I’m certain they are the reasons for our success so far.

1. MARKET WHAT YOU’RE PASSIONATE ABOUT.

One of the things I’m most proud of is that every single person is not only good at what they do, but they’re also passionate about what they do. And they’re passionate because what they’re doing is truly helping others. Their work helps others improve their businesses by creating a one-of-a-kind online experience that helps tell a brand’s story, increase website traffic and convert those visitors into business opportunities. When you’re inspired and passionate about building strong relationships with your customers, positive results just come naturally.

As said by the CEO of General Motors, Mary Barra, “Do something you are passionate about…something you love. If you are doing something you are passionate about, you are just naturally going to succeed, and a lot of other things will happen that you don’t need to worry about. There are so many opportunities and choices that…anyone can make about what they do. Do something you are passionate about. Life is too short.”

2. COMMUNICATE OPENLY.

When you have a team that has highly creative and strategic people working together on projects, you’re bound to have some disagreements—and if anyone tries to tell you their business never has disagreements, they’re lying!

But what makes the difference between a disagreement and a full-fledged screaming match around here is that communication is always open and it’s very clear to everyone that their opinion holds weight. Creating an environment that promotes support, collaboration and unity lets employees know they can communicate not only with me but with members of their team as well.

3. HIRE A TEAM THAT ALWAYS STRIVES FOR MORE.

Another thing I’m justly proud of is that our team never settles and always pushes for more. More knowledge. More resources. More collaboration. More value. More passion. They’re always looking for ways to sharpen their skill sets, learn about new tools that could improve efficiency and better themselves as professionals in this industry. They have the drive to not only be successful but to be constantly improving—and that’s something you can’t put a price tag on.

With this mentality, we’ve been able to accomplish more than we thought possible and we’re excited to continue growing together as we move forward. There may be many secrets to success that work well for different businesses, but these have proven time and time again to help us grow.
